A list of the four virtues.

The cardinal virtues are thought to be four virtues prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance, practised by anyone they form the basis of morality. They are rules that offer guidelines for living responsibly with our fellow human beings and represent the values that Christians are directed to use in their interactions with one another.
These principles derive initially from Plato in the Republic Book. Cicero expanded on them, and Ambrose, Augustine of Hippo, and Thomas Aquinas adapted them and expanded on the theological virtues.
