The haftsin table remains up for the thirteen days of festivities.
Haftsin is Farsi and it is a symbolic display of seven items, each starting with the Persian letter sin, the fifteenth letter of the alphabet which represents the seven creations and the seven holy immortals in Zoroastrianism.
The spreads can vary from elaborate displays with unique additions and beautiful ornate features to small and simple tables, the seven core items though are their one commonality.
