This is a list of ISO 3166 Country codes. Displayed below in the format of English or UK short name, alpha 2 character, alpha 3 character, and numeric.
Country Codes ISO3166 List.
The set of country codes defined in ISO 3166 can used for example in any dropdown list for selecting the associated country. LEDES and UTBMS are examples of standard coding sets which use these standard country codes. This list is downloadable to CSV. See the website below for the International Organization for Standardization to get the latest set of codes or for more information on ISO country codes.
There are additional sub-lists available which provide codes for geographic subdivisions of countries, these codes are known as ISO-3166-2, and the the original country codes can be referred to as ISO-3166-1, ISO-3166-3 is also available and is a list of country codes that are no longer in use (for example, countries that have East Germany and West Germany which fell with the Berlin wall).
